Friday Night Magic

Friday Night Magic

Every Friday night at Noble Knight Games

When?

Fires at 6:15pm every Friday, we recommend arriving by 6pm.

Registration begins at 5:45 – A code will be shown on the Gaming Hall TV with which to join the event via the Magic Companion App on your phone.

Format

Chaos Draft – Chaos Draft is our usual FNM weekly format (excepting pre-release and release day Fridays). Pick your three draft booster packs from an array of standard price (and premium, vintage, and special sets) sets we’ll make available!  Open a pack, pick the card you want to keep, then pass to the next player in the pod, so everyone gets a little of everything chosen! And of course, you keep everything you draft.

New Sets – On Set Release Day Fridays, the new set will be drafted instead. (If enough players also want to Chaos Draft, that will still be an option as well.)

Casual – Competition is great, but Chaos draft lends itself best to a casual fun event with Swiss pairings, 3 or 4 rounds depending on group size. We like our FNMs to be casual, fun, and welcoming to all.

First time drafting?  Our staff, judge, and players are more than happy to lend a hand and teach you the ropes. As one of our players stated recently, “Everyone sucks at drafting the first time. And… probably the first five times. Or forever. You don’t have to be good at it, its just a fun way to get together, get some new cards, and have a good time playing Magic.” Don’t worry about your drafting skills.  Worry about having a good time playing your new cards!

Price

$17 per player when choosing from standard packs priced under $4.  Keep everything you draft, of course!

Upgrade Note: Those who wish to draft premium/vintage/collectors edition packs may do so for an additional cost relevant to their selection. When play is set to begin, you will be given your option of packs to choose from. After making your selection, you’ll proceed to the counter to ring up for the event with the packs you’ve picked.
If you open a premium priced pack and discover there are multiple cards you don’t want to give up, we will allow you to purchase another pack to draft with.

Prizes

Everyone takes home at least 1 booster pack prize! In addition to these prizes, promo packs and other prizes may be handed out, scaling with attendance.

Our new standard prize payouts for drafts are as follows:

  • 3-0-0: 5 packs
  • 2-0-1: 4 packs
  • 2-1-0: 3 packs
  • 1-2-0: 2 packs
  • 0-0-3: 1 pack

What to bring

Important! DCI numbers are no longer used for Wizards of the Coast organized play for Magic the Gathering. Players now register for events through the use of the Magic Companion App. This app provides registration tools, direct round pairings, results, and more. Use of this app is strongly recommended for a smooth Magic experience, due to the new Wizards Event Link program now used for administering Magic events.  If you cannot install apps on your phone, please let our judge know right away.

Please keep in mind that the Wizards Event Link and Magic Companion App are both new programs, new to both you, all judges worldwide, and your friendly local game store. This program is still in its infancy, and we ask for your patience and understanding with these new programs as we all learn them together.

What else to bring?  We suggest a spin-down die or life counter, tokens, play mat, sleeves, and a deck box for your newly drafted cards. These are not required, but are suggested for ease of play and protection of your cards.  If you need these, our storefront team will be happy to help you pick some out. We have plenty of options!

We hope to see you soon at Friday Night Magic!
