Made by Wizkids, our latest competition is a Drider Miniature Painting Contest!
The Drider Paint Kit is available in both our brick-and-mortar and online stores. The kits contain everything you need, including the miniature, Vallejo paints, painting guide, brushes, and even a water pot! These Paint Night kits are a superb way to try mini painting for the first time, or getting your friends and family to paint with you. They also make terrific gifts!
NOTE: This paint kit requires extra tools in order to build the model. The video below is a great tutorial for painters who are new to building minis.
What is a Drider?
Driders were drow—a sub-race of elves—that had been transformed from the waist down so they had the body of a spider. The transformation was typically a punishment for failing a test of Lolth, the most influential goddess of the drow.
Driders were created from drow in an agonizing process. They grew physically stronger and kept all magical and other abilities and skills they learned during their lives. Driders were bloodthirsty. In addition to their personalities and memories from their lives as drow, they held a sense of shame, hatred, and fear that made them violent hunters. Most harbored a death wish that made them want to die in battle— preferably when fighting drow.
Paint & Participate!
All painters of all skill levels are welcomed to enter this “Paint Night” contest. Even if it’s your first time, grab a kit, use the QR code on the box for a tutorial, or drop by Mini Painting Day to learn the ropes. You’ll do great! Or maybe you’re already a well practiced painter. Well, show it off! We love seeing what you do.
Don’t want to paint? You can still be a part of this contest, by voting for your favorite entry during the public voting time. Which one do you enjoy the most? The winner will be crowned Crowd Favorite of the competition!
For this contest, you may use only what is provided for you in the Drider Paint Kit.
